He was called Gold Star because his markings were perfect and as he belonged to Miranda who was a school teacher, perfect marks earned her students a Gold Star and they had to score ten out of ten. Hence his call name of TEN.

He was sold to Mrs Blatchford in Australia. She hardly showed him but he did sire a few well known Australian Champions. His sale enabled Miranda to go through university.
