1990

A great year in the show-ring that was dominated by CH CORYDON
GOLD SPUR
. He lost his coat at just 7 months of age, which was
probably a very good thing for him to do. He came back into the ring at
12 months and came into full coat when normally he would be out of
coat. Consequently he won 4 Challenge Certificates as a Junior. We think
that he is the only dog since the war to do this. He actually won his
Junior Warrant when winning his 4th CC. The Certificate came back from
the Kennel Club without his Champion Title being on it. On enquiry to
the Kennel Club why the Champion Title was not included their reply was
that the Certificates were now being printed by computer and the
software was not able to put this title on as it had never happened
before.!!! Strangely, Mac as we called him then decided that showing
was for idiots, so he never won again, but he sired some top winners.
Back to his wins. It all started at Collie Club of Wales under Ann
Hutchinson. He won Junior Dog, The Dog Challenge Certificate, Best of
Breed and then Best in Show. This was followed by a CC at the Scottish
Kennel Club and Best of Breed under Brenda Banbury. His third and
qualifying CC was won at Blackpool under Stella Clark, with his 4th CC
coming at Windsor under Trevor Haywood.
CH LOWERPARK MOONLIGHTER AT CORYDON was not to be
completely overlooked as he won the CC and best of Breed at
Manchester under Joyce Collis.
Then we had a Res CC won by CORYDON MOON MIRACLE at Working
Breeds of Wales under Peter Turner. He also had a Best of Breed and
Reserve Best in Show all Breeds at Sharrow Open Show.
CORYDON CARUSO had a rare outing and was Best of Breed at
Mansfield Open Show.
Our dogs won 25 1st prizes during 1990.
